GEORGETOWN, Del.- Delaware State Police detectives have arrested a Lewes man accused of raping a 14-year-old girl.

Police said that on Friday, June 28, 2013, detectives at Troop 4  in Georgetown began a rape investigation after a 14-year-old girl disclosed to the Division of Family Services on Thursday that she had been involved in a sexual relationship with Frederick H. Massey Jr., 55, of Lewes.]

Police said the investigation revealed that Massey and the victim had met in October 2012 while the victim was working at a local kennel south of Milton. As the months passed, police said the two communicated through text messages and then in February 2013, police said Massey kissed her on the lips.

Investigators said the relationship continued and in March of 2013, Massey engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior with the 14-year-old while parked in a wooded area near Redden Forest.

Massey was contacted at his home on Friday afternoon and was transported back to Troop 4 where he was processed and arraigned on two counts of second-degree rape and three counts of second-degree unlawful sexual contact. He was ordered held in lieu of $129,000 cash bond.
