Motorcyclist Killed in Seaford Crash

Posted:

SEAFORD, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash in Seaford that claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Monday morning.

Police said the accident occurred at around 7:10 a.m. as 50-year-old Kevin Pritchett of Bridgeville was operating a 2007 Ford F150 pickup truck westbound on Brickyard Road slowing to turn left into a private business parking lot.

Investigators said that in the meantime, 34-year-old Aaron M. Partusch of Seaford was operating a 2006 Kawasaki EXF motorcycle eastbound on Brickyard Road and approaching the pickup truck. Troopers said the truck subsequently turned into the path of the motorcycle, causing it to strike the right front corner of the truck. Investigators said Partusch was ejected from the motorcycle, which was forced off the south side of the roadway where it struck a mailbox before coming to a stop. The pickup was able to come to a controlled stop on the south side of the road.

Police said Partusch, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pritchett, who police said was properly restrained, was not injured in the crash.

The DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation into this accident. Troopers said alcohol or drugs to not appear to be a factor in this case and charges are pending upon the completion of the investigation.

Brickyard Road was closed for approximately two hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
