DELMAR, Md.- Police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that happened early Sunday evening in Delmar.

Detectives with the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation said the suspect, 29-year-old Eddie Savage Jr. of Delmar, was taken into custody without incident late Monday afternoon. He is charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, handgun on person and use of a firearm in a felony-violent crime.

Detectives said Savage was wanted for allegedly shooting and killing 48-year old Kenneth K. Sparks, of Hurlock. The incident allegedly happened shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday at Savage's home at 29961 Foskey Lane in Delmar. According to charging documents, Sparks and other family members traveled to the home so that one of the family members could retrieve children that they had in common with Savage. Court records further state that Savage came out of the home and got into an argument with Sparks in the driveway. It was during this dispute that Savage pulled out a handgun and allegedly shot Sparks in the face, the charging documents state.

Investigators said Sparks, who suffered a gunshot wound to the left cheek and severe trauma to the head, was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, where he was pronounced dead.

Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, Savage was ordered held without bond in the Wicomico County Detention Center.

Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to contact the WBI at (410) 548-4898 or Crime Solvers at (410) 548-1776.
