LEWES, Del.- The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is investigating a boating accident involving the Lewes Fire Department's fire and rescue boat on the night of July 4.

DNREC sources say the Lewes Fire Department's million-dollar vessel collided with a boat not equipped with lights off Lewes Beach.

Lewes fire officials said no one was hurt in the accident, but the department's fire and rescue boat might have been damaged.

Delaware State Police said they have assisted DNREC in its evaluation of the rescue boat by sending their scuba team to survey the hull.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Lewes fire officials said the fire and rescue boat is operational and ready for use in the event of an emergency.

New Waterfront Hotel Breaks Ground in O.C., Part 2

The location of a new waterfront hotel that recently broke ground in Ocean City is raising some eyebrows with neighbors in the downtown area.

The Cambria Hotel is being built in the vacant lot that sits just north of the Route 50 drawbridge, meaning it will be one of the first things drivers see headed into town.

Brian Plimack, who lives just behind the development, said the hotel is too much of a drastic change to the town's skyline.
