Police Catch Three Suspects in Ongoing Drug Investigation

MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police charged three suspects in an ongoing drug investigation in Sussex County.

Police took Rolando Ruiz, 41, his mother Margarita Ruiz, 73, and Shannon Irving, 25, into custody Friday afternoon, after police executed a search warrant at 27000 block of Willow Lane.

Police say they found 1,028 bags of heroin worth $10,000, 14.45 grams of powered cocaine worth $500, scales used to weigh drugs, hypodermic needles, and $8,127 drug sale profit.  

Rolando and Margarita Ruiz were charged with possession of and intent to deliver heroin and cocaine. Shannon Irving was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Margarita Ruiz posted $20,000 cash bond and has been released. Irving was also released, pending arraignment.

Rolando Ruiz remains behind bars in the Sussex Correctional Institution on $94,000 cash bond.

Delaware State Police have been investigating a drug operation for three months.

Police say they will continue to investigate this drug operation in Sussex County.
