Man Killed in Wicomico County Head-on Crash

BIVALVE, Md.- Maryland State Police are investigating a head-on crash in western Wicomico County that claimed the life of one man and left another injured.

At around 4:34 a.m. Tuesday, troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the area of southbound Nanticoke Road at Capitola Road in Bivalve.

Troopers said their investigation revealed a 2012 Ford Focus was traveling southbound on Nanticoke Road at Capitola Road when it crossed the double yellow lane markings and struck a 2009 GMC Sierra pickup head-on. The GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on Nanticoke Road when the collision occurred, police said.

The driver of the Ford Focus, 21-year-old Ian Buchanan Gray, of Bivalve, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC Sierra, 57-year-old Keith Barnes, of Tyaskin, was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
