DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting in Dover that left a man injured.

Dazzel J. King, 22, of Frederica, was taken into custody Thursday morning at a home on Cubbage Pond Road in Lincoln. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, four counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of criminal mischief.

King's arrest stemmed from a alleged shooting that reportedly occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Monday at a home located on the 100 block of Presidents Drive in the neighborhood of Capitol Park.

Troopers said that when they arrived on the scene, they were told that a green Chevrolet Malibu being driven by a male suspect had driven by the home and shot a 28-year-old male victim as he was sitting in his vehicle in the roadway. The vehicle then fled the area and out of the development onto Bay Road (US113) in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his upper extremities.

Police said a further investigation conducted by troopers at the scene revealed that several shots that were fired at the victim had struck the house behind where the victim was parked.  Troopers said that at least one round penetrated the siding of the house and entered into the living room where a 28-year-old woman, 31-year-old man, 12-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy were sitting. They were not injured in the gunfire, according to police.

Investigators said that they were able to determine through leads and interviews that King was the driver of the Chevy Malibu who fired the gunshots.  The Malibu was later found abandoned at a home west of Camden on Willow Grove Road.

Troopers continued to look for King until locating him Thursday morning. Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, he was ordered held in default of $196,000 cash bond.
