TIGHLMAN, Md.- A Tilghman Island family is looking for their dog, which is not your average pet.

Abby, a Rottweiler, is a companion dog whose job it is to provide company and comfort to physically and psychologically wounded veterans returning from overseas.

Her owner, Cindy McGrew, is the founder of a group called Operation Second Chance, which provides company and support for veterans and their families upon their return home.  She considers Abby her second in command.

Abby has been missing since the Fourth of July, when she was let outside during the fireworks, which scared her away. She has not been spotted since, but McGrew has not given up hope.

McGrew said Abby has several distinguishing features. She has double vision, one eye that is entirely brown, and an off-center tail. McGrew has put up posters from her home on Tilghman Island all the way to Easton.

If you have seen Abby, McGrew asks that you contact her as soon as possible.
