WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A landscaper involved in a fatal drunken-driving crash is expected to be deported to Mexico after completing his prison sentence.
Jesus Juarez-Perez was sentenced to three years in prison Friday for a January crash that killed a New Castle man and injured two others.
Juarez-Perez's blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit when his car crossed a center line and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The 32-year-old Juarez-Perez apologized at his sentencing hearing as he spoke through a translator.
Juarez-Perez is an illegal immigrant. Lawyers expect him to be deported after he finishes his sentence.
A Superior Court judge ruled that Juarez-Perez would have to serve the full sentence of 10 years if he's not deported and returns to Delaware.
