OCEAN CITY, Md. (WBOC/AP) - Ocean City police have arrested three men after a crowd created a disturbance on a beach.

Officers said a lifeguard told police that when he approached a group of men about 2:30 p.m. Sunday on the beach at North Division Street, one man threatened him.

Police say they questioned the man, who cursed at the officers and tried to leave. Authorities say when officers tried to arrest the man, others began to act in a threatening manner. Police said two men then assaulted officers.

The suspects were taken into custody.

Twenty-five-year-old Abdul Kargbo of Woodbridge, Va., has been charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Abdul Kargbo's brother, 21-year-old Saidu Kargbo, also of Woodbridge, and 24-year-old Musa Seisay of Garrisonville, were charged with resisting arrest, second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and obstructing and hindering a police officer.

All three were released on their own recognizance.
