Cambridge Man Arrested For Arson

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - A Cambridge man is behind bars, accused of setting another man's SUV on fire in Dorchester County.

Investigators with the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says Lee Dixon Jr. set fire to another man's vehicle around 2 a.m. on July 22. It happened along Race Street in Cambridge.

Investigators say that vehicle, belonging to Richard Cannon, received about $4,000 in damage as a result of the fire.

About 10 firefighters from Rescue Volunteer Fire Company put the fire out quickly. No one was injured.

Cambridge police officers arrested Dixon without incident on Wednesday at his home.

He is charged with second-degree arson, malicious burning, and destruction of property.

If convicted of all charges, Dixon could face up to 63 years in jail and more than $85,000 in fines.
