FEDERALSBURG, Md- Several law enforcement agencies teamed up to close down a major marijuana operation after a three-month investigation in Caroline County.

Members of the Caroline County Drug Task Force executed a search and seizure warrant at a home on the 7000 block of Noble Road in Federalsburg.  Police said that is where they found 96 marijuana plants, more than 100 grams of hashish and more than 200 grams of marijuana.

Task force members said they also seized pieces of manufacturing equipment used to grow marijuana.

On Wednesday, police said 35-year-old Mitchell Alan Weimer and 25-year-old Ashley Kristine Thomas turned themselves in on outstanding warrants from the investigation.

Weimer and Thomas are facing several drug-related charges.

The Talbot County Narcotics Task Force, Maryland State Police Special Tactical Assault Team Element, Maryland State Police Barrack "I" , Federalsburg Police Department and the Caroline County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit assisted with the execution of the search warrant.
