DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police say a Dover woman is facing multiple charges after a gun and drugs were found in her vehicle Monday evening.

According to police, the arrest was made at shortly after 11 p.m., as members of the Kent County Governor's Task Force were arresting a probation violator at the Kent Budget Motel at 383 North DuPont Highway. Members noticed a white Chevrolet Blazer parked in the parking lot outside of the motel and a trooper recognized the driver, identified as 42-year-old Dorena F. Coleman, from a previous arrest.

Coleman was uncooperative with the trooper that approached the Blazer and asked for identification, according to police. Investigators said Coleman later had to be pulled from the vehicle and was detained for her two active capiases.

A loaded .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun was recovered during the search of the Blazer, police said. Troopers also recovered a box of ammunition, 96 bags (1.92 grams) of heroin, 1.3 grams of cocaine, nine strips of Suboxone and 15 prescription pills.

Coleman was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also arraigned on her two capiases.

She was ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institute on $50,500 cash bail.
