Man Pleads Guilty to Robbing Bank

BALTIMORE- A man who robbed a Salisbury bank back in March pleaded guilty to the crime on Friday.

Gary Allen Mitchell of Salisbury, 42, pleaded guilty in federal court in Baltimore.

According to his plea agreement, Mitchell walked into a PNC bank in Salisbury and slipped a teller a note. On it he wrote he had a gun and demanded money. Prosecutors say the teller gave Mitchell more than $4,000.

Mitchell then left the scene in a cab; the same cab he took to the bank, according to police.

Officials say when they found Mitchell he had the stolen money and was smoking cocaine.

Mitchell faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. His sentencing will take place Nov. 15.
