Fatal Car Accident in Queen Anne's County

QUEENSTOWN, Md. -  A 61-year-old man from Chester is dead following a car crash in Queen Anne's County.

According to the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened around 10 p.m., Saturday near the 500 block of Carmichael Road.

Authorities say the driver was driving a Chevrolet Blazer traveling southbound on Carmichael Road when it crossed the centerline and into the opposite shoulder.

The vehicle then skidded across the roadway back across the centerline and into a ditch causing the vehicle to go airborne landing in a field where it then rolled over. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was taken to the Queen Anne's Emergency Room where he was pronounced dead. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
