ELDORADO-BROOKVIEW, Md.- Authorities are investigating a fire that left a Dorchester County barn in ruins.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze occurred at around 9:35 p.m. Monday at a 40-foot by 50-foot wood-framed barn located at 6240 Eldorado Road in Eldorado-Brookview.

It took 55 firefighters from the Eldorado Brookview, Hurlock and Sharptown fire departments about one hour to get the two-alarm fire under control.

As a result of the fire, an adjacent 35-foot by 100-foot vacant chicken house was also destroyed.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to the structure and another $10,000 in damage to its contents.

The cause of this fire is under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Salisbury Office of the State Fire Marshal at (410) 713-3780.
