Maryland Eager to Start Anew After 2 Lost Seasons

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP)- Randy Edsall's first season as Maryland football coach produced two wins. Last year, when the Terrapins went through four quarterbacks, a 6-game skid and eight distressing defeats.

Edsall and his team have put all that behind them as they prepare for his third stab at a winning season, a task that begins Saturday with a home game against Florida International.

The Terrapins have only four senior starters, two on the offense and two on the defense. But they've got quarterback C.J. Brown, who missed last season with a torn left ACL.

Brown is healthy and eager for a fresh start.

Brown says, "The knee feels great, and I'm really excited for this upcoming week."

Edsall, who turned 55 on Tuesday, says the Terps "continue to get better with every practice."
