MILLSBORO, Del.– Delaware State Police have arrested a man on burglary and related charges after a Millsboro homeowner reported seeing him jump out of her window.

Nathan M. Orr, 31, of Lewes, was arrested on Monday afternoon after a 9-1-1 call to the 26000 block of School Lane. The 33-year-old homeowner stated that she thought someone was in her home after she smelled smoke from a cigarette. Police said that while she was on the phone with dispatchers, she noticed a man later identified as Orr, running across Bay Farm Road. Troopers took Orr into custody.

Troopers said their ensuing investigation determined that Orr went to the home with another person named "Chris." Police said the two entered the house through a rear window by cutting the screen and began stealing electronics, jewelry and a firearm before fleeing the house. Orr returned to the house after discovering he left his cellphone behind, according to investigators.

Police said all of the property taken during the alleged burglary was recovered, including a Glock handgun discovered at a pond close to the home. Investigators said they also found a stolen credit card that was taken during another burglary of a 68-year-old man's house in Mariner's Cover on Aug. 25.

Orr was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, theft of a firearm, three counts of theft, second-degree conspiracy, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief.

He was ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution on $16,300 secured bond.
