2 Arrested in Attempted Robbery at Del. ATM

Posted:

NEWARK, Del. (AP)- Delaware State Police have arrested two Maryland residents in the attempted robbery of a man at an ATM in Newark.

Twenty-four-year-old Megan Fields of Northeast and 33-year-old Stephen Campbell of Elkton were arrested Tuesday. They are each charged with attempted robbery and other offenses.

Troopers say on Aug. 19, a 74-year-old man withdrew money from a Wells Fargo bank. Police say Fields brandished a knife and demanded the man's cash.

Officers say the man punched the woman in the face. Police say the woman ran to the man's car, punctured 1 of its tires and fled in a car driven by Campbell.
