Bishopville Man Charged With DUI After Crash

Updated:

WEST OCEAN CITY, Md.- A Bishopville man is facing DUI charges after authorities say he backed out of a parking space and into another car.

Maryland State Police responded to a call in the parking lot of 9636 Stephen Decatur Highway in West Ocean City at around 8:50 p.m. Thursday.

Troopers said they arrested 60-year-old John Carl Dahl for driving under the influence of alcohol after his Chevrolet Blazer hit a Kia Sorento driven by 58-year-old Christine Ann Sevald of Doylestown, Pa.

There were no reported injuries in the crash and the vehicles sustained minor damage.

Police said that during initial contact with Dahl, it was evident that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages. Dahl refused to submit a blood test, police added.
