DOVER, Del.- Police in Delaware have scheduled two DUI checkpoints across the state this Labor Day holiday weekend as part of a crackdown against drunk driving.

According to the state Office of Highway Safety, the checkpoints scheduled for Friday night in Newport and Rehoboth Beach are being implemented as a part of the Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign aimed to crack down on impaired driving.

According to the State of Delaware, the operation is designed to remove impaired drivers from the road and hinder those who might make the poor decision to drive after drinking alcohol or using drugs.

In addition to these two checkpoints, Delaware will be conducting DUI checkpoints every weekend from now until New Year's.
