Harrington House Trailer Fire Ruled Arson

HARRINGTON, Del.- The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office has determined that a Monday afternoon fire that damaged a house trailer near Harrington was deliberately started.

The fire, reported just before 1 p.m., happened on the 3100 block of Hills Market Road in southwest Kent County. The Harrington Fire Company arrived on the scene with smoke coming from the trailer.

Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael G. Chionchio said deputy fire marshals were called to the scene to conduct the investigation. He said fire marshals were able to locate the origin of the fire and determined it was intentionally set. A criminal investigation into the fire is under way.

Heavy fire damage was estimated at $10,000. There were no reported injuries. The Red Cross was called to assist one adult who lived at the location.
