Del. Police ID Motorcyclist Killed in Newark Crash

NEWARK, Del. (WBOC/AP)- Delaware State Police have identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash in Newark.

Police said 58-year-old Richard C.Correll Jr., of Newark, was riding eastbound on Capitol Trail shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday when a Ford Escape pulled out of driveway in front of him. Correll braked, laid the motorcycle down on its side and fell off in the left lane. Police said a Jeep Cherokee and another vehicle hit Correll and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The collision reconstruction unit is continuing its investigation, and no charges have been filed.

Police said the second vehicle that hit Correll left the scene. They are asking anyone with information about that vehicle to call investigatos at (302) 834-2620, ext. 287.
