Wesley College Field Hockey Beat McDaniel College 2-0

DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's field hockey team shutout McDaniel College, 2-0, on Thursday night at Scott D. Miller Stadium.  Both teams are now 2-1 on the season.

Sarah Daniels played the entire game between the cage for Wesley and made five saves as the Green Terror outshot the Wolverines, 17-14.  Daniels also got plenty of help from her defense as upperclassman defenders Brooke Gannon (three) and Victoria Dunbar (two) combined for five defensive saves.

Devin Price, an All-CAC player in 2012, put Wesley on top at 29:18 as her and Lauren Mears put on a nifty give-and-go to beat McDaniel goalkeeper Caila White (eight saves).  The Wolverines held onto the one-goal lead until the 58th minute when Rachel Joyner took a corner from Gracie Daniels, dribbled inside and hammered a shot into the right corner for an insurance goal.

Wesley returns to the field on September 7, when it travels to take on Richard Stockton at 1 pm.
