COLLEGE PARK, Md.- Maryland Football wide receiver Stefon Diggs made a huge impact on the program this weekend by being voted the Atlantic Coast Conference's Receiver of the Week, the league announced Monday. Diggs posted a career-high 179 yards receiving in Maryland's 47-10 win over Old Dominion on Saturday.
Diggs caught six passes for a career-best 179 yards and one touchdown. His touchdown reception was a 41-yard catch and run down the right sideline for his second touchdown of the season. Diggs' 179 yards are the most by a Maryland receiver since Ravens' great Torrey Smith had 224 yards against NC State on Nov. 27, 2010.
The sophomore is averaging 25.2 yards per catch in two games and is second in the ACC averaging 138.5 yards per game. For his career, Diggs now has 1,125 career receiving yards, ranking 21st in Maryland history.
The Terps will travel to Connecticut on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. The team is looking to improve to 3-0 after averaging 45 points in their first two games of the season.
