Man Arrested in Del. Casino Parking Lot Carjacking

DOVER, Del.– Dover police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a carjacking that allegedly occurred in the Dover Downs Casino parking lot.

Police said that at around 3:35 p.m. Saturday, Jerome M. Williams, of Indian Head, Md., approached the victim, who was sitting in her car in the casino's parking lot, and demanded money. The victim then got out of the car and fled, according to investigators.

Police said Williams began searching through her car and was later seen running with a knife in his hand. Responding Dover police officers observed Williams running through a JCPenney parking lot where he was taken into custody.

Williams has been charged with attempted first-degree robbery, first-degree carjacking, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony and resisting arrest. He was ordered held in default of $47,000 cash bond.
