PHILADELPHIA- The Philadelphia Flyers have released their complete roster for their 2013 Training Camp, General Manager Paul Holmgren announced Wednesday. Camp opens on Thursday, Sept. 12 at the Wells Fargo Center.
The final camp roster includes 63 players- 35 forwards, 22 defensemen and six goaltenders. It includes four players added to the roster on invitations and tryouts over the past two weeks. An updated roster can be seen below, attached to this release.
The first three days of training camp will take place at the Wells Fargo Center on Sept. 12, 13 and 14. Each day will include three on-ice sessions, with roughly a third of the roster participating in each session. The on-ice sessions are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
All three days of camp at the Wells Fargo Center are free and open to the public. Doors will open at 8 a.m. daily. In addition to the on-ice sessions, a variety of fan activities will take place during the day at XFINITY Live! Philadelphia, an entertainment complex adjacent to the Wells Fargo Center. Virtua, a participating partner of the Flyers 2013 Training Camp, supports the events. Comcast SportsNet's "Meet the Flyers" taping will take place on Friday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. Fans are invited to attend this event at XFINITY Live! Access to the "Meet the Flyers" event is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
As part of Thursday's events, tickets to the 37th annual Flyers Wives Fight For Wives Carnival will go on sale at FlyersCarnival.com and at the Wells Fargo Center box office. Scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Wells Fargo Center, this Carnival will give fans the opportunity to meet and take pictures with their favorite Flyers players, collect autographs, play interactive games and activities. Fan favorites include Shot-on-Goal with a Flyers Goalie, carnival games, dunk tank, tours of the Wells Fargo Center press box and meet-and-greets with Flyers alumni.
On Sunday, Sept. 15, the Flyers will play their first preseason game vs. Toronto, serving as the home team at the Global Spectrum-managed Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario. The Flyers will split their squads for games on Sept. 16 at Toronto and at home vs. Washington. The teams will reunite to host the New York Rangers on Sept. 17.
Following a day off on Sept. 18, training camp will transition to the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y., from Sept. 19-22. The final week of camp will take place from Sept. 23-30 at the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ. Sessions will be free and open to the public. The second half of camp features three more exhibition games, including a home game vs. New Jersey on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
