OCEAN PINES, Md.– An Ocean Pines woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for stealing nearly $368,000 from a local business, prosecutors announced Thursday.

Diane Marie King, 53, acted as a bookkeeper for the business during the period of November 2007 and August 2010, according to Wicomico County State's Attorney Matthew Maciarello, whose office prosecuted King. It was during the aforementioned period of time that the theft occurred, Maciarello said.

Last month King was convicted of theft by a Wicomico County Circuit Court judge with sentencing having occurred Thursday. A civil judgment was awarded to the business owner in the amount of $367,907.38, Maciarello said.

King had faced a maximum penalty of 25 years in the Division of Corrections.
