UD Student Charged After Unruly Crowd Disturbance

NEWARK, Del. (AP)- Newark police say a man accused of damaging the roof of a car during a disturbance by an unruly crowd has turned himself in.

Officers say 18-year-old John Marine of Newark surrendered this week after officers released photos of 2 people who allegedly damaged the roof of a car late Monday. The incident was 1 of multiple cases of property damage when hundreds of people became unruly at a party involving students at the University of Delaware.

Marine, who police say is a UD student, is charged with riot, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was released on bond.
