Police Searching for Wanted Smyrna Sex Offender

SMYRNA, Del.– The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit is searching for a Smyrna sex offender after he failed to register his sex offender status, officials said.

Investigators said they have obtained a warrant for Stephen J. Bridges, 26, who is a Tier 3 (high-risk) sex offender, after they learned that he failed to register as required by law.

Bridges is described as a white male, 5-foot-8, 171 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Investigators said he may be in the Smyrna area.

The Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit is asking anyone who may know the location of Bridges to call 9-1-1 or (302) 672-5306.  Citizens may also provide a tip by texting keyword "DSP" plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES).  Tipsters may also provide information through lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
