WILMINGTON, Del. WBOC/AP)- Delaware State Police say they have linked a man and a woman to thefts from two businesses in north Wilmington and others throughout Delaware and Maryland.

Troopers said the pair has committed thefts at restaurants, convenience stores and gas stations in Delaware and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Police said the female suspect acted as a lookout while the man enters an office and removes cash. Troopers said the man usually dresses like an employee of the business or a vendor to seem innocuous.

The suspects are believed to be responsible for a number of thefts since late 2012, according to police. The thefts include one at Harry's Savoy Grill in Wilmington on Sept. 1 and another at the Dash In on Sept. 2.

Troopers are asking the public for help in identifying the pair, and are warning business owners to be on the alert for unauthorized people in employee-only parts of their stores and restaurants.

The male suspect is described as black, heavy build, 5-foot-10 and 50-60 years of age. The female suspect is described as black, average build, 5-foot-5 and 45-55 years of age.

Anyone who can identify the suspects, or has additional information about these incidents, is asked asked to contact Cpl/3 Mayberry of DSP Troop 1 at (302) 761-6677, or by utilizing the DSP Mobile Crime Tip Application available to download at: http://www.delaware.gov/apps/.  Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via www.tipsubmit.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP."
