UD Men's Tennis Players Pair Up for Doubles Championship

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.– The University of Delaware men's tennis team wrapped up the Saint Joseph's Fall Invitational Sunday with two players bringing home the Doubles Flight 2 Consolation Championship.

UD Freshman Roy Cheng, of Shatin, Hong Kong, and junior Evan Andrews, of York, Pa., opened with a win against Lafayette's Mitch Abramo and Brian Stefanowicz before defeating Army's Sam Jang-Milsten and David Proctor, 8-5, in the finals.

UD Seniors Adam Lawton, of Estepona, Spain, and Troy Beneck, of Wilmington, Del., also earned a trip to their respective doubles finals round following a Flight 1 win over SJU's Jose Sierra and Dan Barrus, 8-5.

The Blue Hens will be traveling to Philadelphia again Sept. 27-29 for the Penn Tournament.
