DOVER, Del.– Delaware State University will hold its annual Homecoming Weekend Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 in downtown Dover, officials said.

The university invites organizations, steppers, dancing groups, car clubs, election candidates, high school bands and others to participate in the 2013 DSU Parade by signing up online at www.desu.edu/form/homecoming-parade or call (302) 857-6395.

Officials said the parade participants will begin the parade on Federal St. and march down Loockerman St. through downtown Dover. The parade route will continue down Lincoln Ave. and will end at William Henry Middle School.

Participants are recommended to arrive at the parade launching area in the Legislative Mall area off of Federal St. between 8-9 a.m. There is no cost to register for the parade.

Paula Wright will serve as the parade's grand marshal, in memory of her husband, the late Don Wright, a beloved DSU alumnus who passed away earlier this year.
