Boy in Hospital After Head is Caught in Car Window

NEWARK, Del. (AP)- Newark police say a toddler has been hospitalized after getting his head stuck in a car window.

Officers arrived at the home on Allison Lane about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities say a 2-year-old who had been sitting in a car in the driveway got his head stuck in the window, restricting his breathing. A relative freed him.

The boy was not breathing when police arrived, and officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

Police say the boy became responsive on the way to a local hospital. He was later transferred to Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, where authorities say he was in stable condition.

The incident is under investigation.
