WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - The average price for a gallon of gas has been declining for more than a month.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the national average has declined for 33 days in a row. At the end of September, the average price for a gallon of unleaded was $3.52. On Friday, the national average had dropped to $3.37. That's down five cents from a week ago.

AAA says the price of crude oil has declined during the federal government shutdown.

In Maryland, the average price for gas on Friday was $3.33 per gallon. It was even less in Salisbury, Md., with an average price of $3.18 per gallon. Prices were higher near the District of Columbia and in western Maryland.
