Va. Aquarium Expansion Includes Zip Line, Garden

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP)- The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center is proposing an expansion that includes a zip line and a coastal conservation garden.

Virginia Beach's City Council is scheduled to vote on the project Tuesday.

Brian Solis with Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation says that the aquarium's foundation would partner with the department for the project.

Solis says the garden would free and open to the public. A $250,000 grant from the Williams Family Foundation would be used to maintain it.

According to city documents, the expansion also could include a butterfly garden, nature center and amphitheater.
