WACO, Texas – Wesley College's football team moved up one spot to the eleventh in the American Football Coaches Association Poll, but fell back one in the D3football.com Top 25 Poll, announced by both publications on Monday.
The Wolverines were victorious, 38-28 over No. 22 Huntingdon on Homecoming Oct. 5, giving Wesley (4-1) its second-straight win over a team from Alabama. The Hawks (3-1) dropped out of the AFCA poll in the loss.
Both polls have four of the top five teams the same as Mount Union is currently consensus top-ranked team. The Coaches have Mary-Hardin Baylor ranked second while Linfield holds the edge-in over the Crusaders in the media poll. North Central is ranked fourth in both polls while the AFCA ranks Hobart fifth whereas the media selected Bethel.
Ranking just ahead of Wesley at tenth is Wisconsin-Whitewater in the media poll and Heidelberg in the coaches poll.
On Saturday, Oct. 12, the Wolverines host Virginia-Lynchburg at 1 p.m.
