Teen To Be Tried As Adult in Talbot County

TALBOT COUNTY, Md. – A Talbot County Circuit Court Judge has denied a 17-year-old's defense motion to be tried in juvenile court.

The judge decided Tuesday that Matthew Mikowski, charged with second-degree murder, will be tried as an adult.

Mikowski, of St. Michael's, is accused in the June 10 death of Samuel Cross, 18, of Easton.

Cross's body was found in the area of Bozman-Nevit Rd. and St. Michael's Rd in Easton. Mikowski is accused of strangling Cross to death.

A Talbot County Grand Jury indicted Mikowski on charges of second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and distributing the drug LSD.

Mikowski was arrested in Pennsylvania and extradited to Maryland, where he will now be tried as an adult.
