Salisbury Fire Under Investigation

SALISBURY, Md.– The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a house fire that occurred early Wednesday morning.

Officials said the blaze broke out shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday at a two story home located at 208 East Lincoln Ave.

It took 19 firefighters from Salisbury Fire Departments 1, 2, and 16 to get the one-alarm fire under control in about 20 minutes. The Red Cross also came to assist.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $600 in damage to the structure and an additional $200 in damage to its contents. Officials said there was a smoke alarm present and operating.

The fire's area of origin determined to be in the living room, but what caused the fire is still under investigation.
