Seniors Pack the House to Learn About Obamacare

Posted:

GEORGETOWN, Del.- Outside in the parking lot, there wasn't a single space available. That's because inside the CHEER Center in Georgetown, experts were hosting a seminar on the Affordable Care Act for seniors.

Close to 300 people attended Wednesday's "The LIVE Conference," co-sponsored by the Sussex County Council and the Delaware Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities. In fact, conference leaders say they were forced to turn away close to a hundred people, simply because they couldn't fit any more inside the building.

Inside, questions were asked on a range of topics, including medicare, plan options, and stay-at-home care.

"I just want to know everything there is to know about it," said Lu Creel. "This is a big change in our lives."

Anyone with questions about the Affordable Care Act are encouraged to visit www.healthcare.gov for more information.
