List of Del. Road Closures Due to Weather

UNDATED- The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced the following road closures across the state as a result of the recent wet weather:

New Castle County:

  • Creek Road, between Yorklyn Road and Benge Road, near Hockessin, is closed due to power lines down across the roadway.
  • Old Corbit Road, near Old State Road, east of Middletown, is closed due to high water.
  • Montchanin Road, north of Adams Dam Road, near Wilmington Country Club, is open, but has water on roadway.

Kent County:

  • Port Mahon Road, east of Dover, near Little Creek Wildlife Area, is closed due to flooding.
  • Cypress Branch Road, between Ponderosa Drive and Evergreen Road is passable, but has water on the roadway.
  • Tub Mill Pond Road, between Old Cemetery Road and Fork Land Road, is passable, but has water on the roadway.
  • Still Road, between Mahon Corner Road and the Maryland State Line, is passable, but has water on the roadway.
  • John Hurd Road, between Spectrum Farm Road and Sandtown Road is passable, but has water on the roadway.
  • South Bowers Road, has water on the roadway at the dead end of the road.

Sussex County:

  • Prime Hook Road is currently open, but has water on roadway. High tide is expected at 4 p.m. for Prime Hook.
  • O'Neal's Road, south of Seaford, east of Gum Branch Road, is passable, but has water on the roadway.  

Note: Route 1, near the Indian River Inlet Bridge, is open, all lanes, in both directions.

    SEAFORD, De.- Another major store is closing in Delaware. This time it’s the Sears in Seaford. This comes shortly after news broke that the Kmart store in Dover was closing.
