DOVER, Del.- Dover police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with an early September shooting that left a man in critical condition.

Stefon Miller, 22, of Lincoln, was taken into custody Friday, Oct. 11, and charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.

Police said Miller's arrest stemmed from an incident that happened late in the evening of Sept. 9, when the 23-year-old victim was shot multiple times in the lower back on the 100 block of South New Street.

Investigators said that after the shooting the victim was located on the ground and was found to be in possession of 2.1 grams of crack cocaine and a large amount of cash. The victim underwent emergency surgery at Bayhealth Medical Center. Several 9mm shell casings were located near the victim, police said.

Miller is currently being held on other charges and will be arraigned on the newest charges at a later time, according to police. His bond is pending.
