SMYRNA, Del. - Battling sloppy and windy conditions, freshmen Dieunise Desir and Miata Reese ran top ten times for the Wesley College women's cross country team at the Delaware State Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Competing against five Division I schools, Desir ran a seasonal-best 20:47.23, ranking fifth in school-history and 26th of 70 athletes. Reese ran a personal-record 21:21.64, ranking 31st overall and ninth in program-history.
Classmates Shannon Moody and Alexus Reese covered the 5k course right after the other in 22:16.20 and 22:35.48, respectively while fellow freshman Elizabeth Moyna finished in 23:46. Jada Tinch crossed the finish at 24:11.91.
The Wolverines will look to regroup when they compete at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday, October 19.
