Argument Leads to Shooting in Fruitland

FRUITLAND, Md.- Fruitland police say a weekend dispute led to a shooting that put one person in the hospital.

Police said they were contacted around 1 a.m. Sunday by Peninsula Regional Medical Center staffers for a report of someone being treated with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The injuries are considered life-threatening, police said.

According to investigators, the victim had been in an argument with an unknown man in the area of 214 Green Street when the suspect pulled out a small caliber handgun and fired it several times, hitting the victim one time in the abdomen.
