PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- Freshman Sonia Rosales (Victorville, Calif.) and freshman Khalil Rmidi (Malaga, Spain) were named the Peninsula Regional Medical Center University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 15. Rmidi has won the award four times, while Rosales has won twice in the past three weeks.
Rosales began the week with 34 assists and five-kill efforts at Morgan State on Friday night. She was also second on the team with five digs and one service ace against the Bears. Her solid week continued with 19 assists and three kills in the match against Hampton on Sunday. She also added one dig and did not have an error on the day. She leads the Hawks with 332 assists and is third in service aces with 13 and digs with 83.
Rmidi placed second overall at the Delaware State University Invitational on Saturday. He was a top finisher for the Hawks at the event with a time of 27:25:51, which is nearly 30 seconds faster than the closest Hawk competitor. Rmidi's leadership guided the Hawks to a second-place finish in the team standings.
