SALISBURY, Md.-  Maryland State Highway Administration officials say US 50 was reopened Thursday evening after a tanker truck overturned between Rockawalkin and White Lowe roads near the Salisbury Bypass.

Maryland State Police say Steve Bivens, 58, from Pennsylvania, was heading east on US 50, when he left the road and hit a guardrail. The collision caused the truck to overturn. Bivens was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police also say the truck was carrying a flammable material and was leaking fuel as result of the collision. Hazardous materials crews were called upon to assist with cleanup operations.

Alcohol is not considered a factor in the accident.
