Somerset County Interim Superintendent Could Become Permanent

WESTOVER, Md. – Interim Superintendent John Gaddis could become the permanent superintendent in Somerset County.

Education officials expressed interest in Gaddis taking on his current position permanently. Board Chairman William Miles instructed school board attorney Fulton Jeffers to start contract negotiations with Gaddis, whose held the position since July.

Miles announced the school board's interest in Gaddis as a permanent leader at the end of Tuesday night's meeting, saying the board would want a contract to take effect at the start of the upcoming fiscal year, on July 1.
