Lyons Pleads Guilty to Killing a Mother, Shooting Two Daughters

SALISBURY, Md. – The man accused of killing a mother and shooting her two teenage daughters pleaded guilty to those crimes Friday morning.

Myles Lyons pleaded guilty to all 20 counts in fatally shooting Lakisha Jackson, 39. Those counts included first-degree murder, attempted murder, and weapons charges.

On Nov. 27, 2012, Lyons shot Lakisha Jackson to death at a Jersey Road home in Salisbury. He also shot her two teenage daughters, Tyisha and Nicole Jackson.

Police say Nicole Jackson was 8-months pregnant at the time with Lyons's child, and later gave birth to a healthy baby.

Investigators say Lyons shot Nicole in the chest, stabbed her in the face, and shot her sister, Tyisha, twice in the back.

Tyisha then locked herself and three children in a bedroom in the home. Wicomico County deputies helped a 10-year-old boy, his two-month-old niece and his four-year-old nephew escape from the second-story bedroom window.

The young boy took his infant niece to a nearby home for safety.

Prosecutors in the case say Lyons now faces concurrent life sentences in Wicomico County.
