STERLING, Va. (AP) - Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli is calling on President Barack Obama to fire his Health and Human Services chief over the flawed rollout of the nation's health care law.
Cuccinelli, joined Monday by fellow attorneys general who sued to block the president's signature legislation, urged Obama to fire Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Just hours earlier at the White House, Obama admitted the rollout of the health care law was flawed.
Cuccinelli was the first attorney general to sue to block the law, which he calls "Obamacare." The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the law, but it remains unpopular among Republicans, helping Cuccinelli's appeal among conservatives.
Democratic nominee Terry McAuliffe, who has a slight lead in the polls, did not have public campaign events on Monday.
