DNR Seeking Rider Applications for New Trail

GRANTSVILLE, Md. – The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is seeking riders to test a new off-road vehicle trail in the Savage River State Forest.

DNR said Wednesday it has four test rides scheduled for 15 registered riders through December.

The whole ride is 14 miles long.

To apply, riders must submit an application by mail or in person at the forest headquarters near Grantsville at least five business days beforehand. Monday is the deadline.

DNR says the trail design will not have the kind of environmental damage it had in 2011.
